The re-emergence of Camden Market

The re-emergence of Camden Market

Camden Market has experienced a considerable transformation since LabTech’s original takeover in 2014. With the landlord keen to the revitalise the market’s attraction, some long standing institutions have moved on, but have been replaced with exciting, modern and relevant operators who understand the Camden customer.

We helped acquire Junkyard Golf Club's new flagship London venue, set to open in Camden Market this year

Having grown up in North London, Shaka Zulu was a haunt I had frequented in my earlier teenage years when our fake EU driving licences had to suffice. Having not been for many years, it was somewhat nostalgic when the opportunity to acquire the site presented itself. Junkyard had been keen to source a flagship London venue and the Shaka Zulu matched their exact requirement brief. They felt there was a real synergy between the brand and the edgy attraction of Camden, and we look forward to seeing them open up this summer.

The All Saints in Camden Market was often celebrated as the jewel in Camden’s crown. With its corner prominence sitting right at the entrance to the Market and overlooking Regent's Canal, this site has long been the envy of the retail market. The site received numerous offers in the last five years with All Saints’ impending lease expiring, but LabTech have been waiting for the ‘right’ operator, which they found in the form of Shake Shack. The brand have just completed on the lease and will look to open in the next couple of months.

Shake Shack will open their new site overlooking Camden Lock later in 2023

We have a number of exciting operators looking to join the line up in Hawley Wharf this coming year, and we're continuing to explore new ideas for the spaces we currently have available in the new development. You can see below a number of the great opportunities we currently have available across the estate. Please feel free to contact us if you would be interested to see your brand represented here.
